How to enter

The Marketing Society Excellence Awards sets the standard of marketing excellence in the UK. With 24 categories, there is something for everyone.

Please note: this platform to submit your entries is different to The Marketing Society website. If you’re a member of The Marketing Society you cannot use your Society login. You must create an alternative one for the Excellence Awards.

When submitting your entry, ensure you have obtained permission to feature material from external suppliers as necessary.

Case Studies
The Marketing Society will publish winning and shortlisted case studies, to promote marketing excellence.  If your case study contains sensitive information, you should clearly state this and indicate which information should not be published. In addition, some winners will be approached and invited to present at a Best Practice Showcase event in each September. This event is promoted through The Marketing Society's main website.

Who can enter
Entries may be submitted by the owner of the brand or company (or their marketing agency). All agencies entering must gain prior approval from a director at the client company and supply that individual’s email address for verification. You do not have to be a member of The Marketing Society to enter the Awards. Your company/agency does not need to reside in the UK.

Hugh Burkitt's tips to impress the judges

1. Be Brave.
There will be a new overall prize for the bravest brand from among all the entries, but in each category the judges will be looking out for brands that have taken risks and succeeded against the odds.

2. Embrace failure.
If you are brave enough to share your failure with us this year you might be the winner of our 'Heroic Failure' award – especially if you can also share what you learned and perhaps how this has been turned into a subsequent success.

3. Back it up.
Do give the judges clear quantified evidence of your success. All the judges sign a confidentiality agreement, and we won’t publish anything you tell us not to, but they do want to be convinced that your story isn’t just puffery.

An entry must take the form of a 2000-word paper (submitted online), which includes your 300-word executive summary. Total max word count: 2300. Please note your word count on the last page of your submission. Creative images should be used to illustrate the paper and aid the judges in their evaluation. You are allowed to upload three supporting images per entry at 300 DPI. Your submission PDF file should not exceed 5MBs. All submissions should be uploaded as PDFs. Paper copies are not required. Images should be uploaded as JPGs.

Each entry should include your 300-word executive summary, which should cover:

• Objective
• Scale of the task
• Key results

• Member: £400 +VAT for each entry
• Non-member: £520 +VAT for each entry
• Not-for-Profit category: Free of charge
• Young Marketing Leader of the Year: Free of charge
• Any entries submitted after the initial deadline of 9 February 2018 will incur a £50 fee.

Entries cannot be submitted unless paid for.

Payment is made online.
